Life Cycle Manager for Fire Control (Surface Ship) (A000366)

This positions can be filled by either a Life Cycle Manager, senior Technician, or Junior Technician. Each of these positions has specific requirements as listed below.

Job description:

Working out of Ottawa you will be part of a team that is supporting underwater weapons systems for Canadian Surface Ships. You will specifically be required to support the replacement of systems involved in the firing and control of underwater weapons.

Life Cycle Manager Requirements.

  1. A minimum of thirty-six (36) months of demonstrated in-service experience, within the last seven (7) years, performing maintenance management activities of Naval underwater weapons systems onboard naval ships or submarines; o a minimum of thirty-six (36) months of demonstrated in-service experience, within the last seven (7) years, supporting NDHQ LCMM functions with Naval underwater weapons systems onboard naval ships or submarines;

  2. Civilian Trained PersonnelGraduation from a two (2) year technical program offered by a recognized technical institute;--OR--Eligibility for registration as a technician by a recognized provincial licensing body;--AND—Minimum of thirty-six (36) months of demonstrated practical hands-on experience in a maintenance management related activity;Canadian Forces Trained PersonnelQualified to the QL6 trade level in a related technical field;

  3. Knowledge of evaluation, preparation and implementation of technical documentation;

  4. Knowledge of the preparation and distribution of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation;

  5. Knowledge of any DND environment Engineering and Maintenance Management System; and

  6. Knowledge of maintenance system interfaces with the Canadian Forces Supply System (CFSS) and a DND financial/managerial accounting system.

Senior Technician Requirements:

  1. You should possess either:
    1. Civilian Trained Personnel. Graduation from a two (2) year technical program offered by a recognized technical institute - or – eligibility for registration as a technician by a recognized provincial licensing body; or
    2. Canadian Forces Trained Personnel. Qualified to the Journeyman Level for any of the following Naval Military Occupations: NW TECH 065, or NE TECH (A) 283, or NE TECH (C) 284, or NE TECH (T) 285, or NE TECH (M) 286; and

  2. Minimum of sixty (60) months of demonstrated experience providing services in a technical field within the last ten (10) years.

Junior Technician Requirements:

  1. The Junior Technician shall possess either:
    1. Civilian Trained Personnel. Graduation from a two (2) year technical program offered by a recognized technical institute; - or – eligibility for registration as a technician by a recognized provincial licensing body; or
    2. Canadian Forces Trained Personnel; Qualified to the Journeyman Level for any of the following Naval Military Occupations: NW TECH 065, or NE TECH (A) 283, or NE TECH (C) 284, or NE TECH (T) 285, or NE TECH (M) 286;

  2. The Junior Technician shall possess a minimum of twenty-four (24) months of demonstrated technical experience, in the last sixty (60) months, providing direct hands-on shipboard technical support of Naval Underwater Combat Systems; and

  3. Minimum of twenty-four (24) months of demonstrated experience providing services in a technical field within the last sixty (60) months.
